Why I started this
I was led to start Cross and Shield Creations for one reason: to encourage Christians and help them live a life of worship.
These are not easy days to hold onto faith. I believe a gift given at the right moment can encourage someone more than we know. When we wear our praise, or bring it into our home, it becomes worship and not just decoration. A message of hope, carried into everyday life, is one more way to glorify God.
That conviction is the heart behind everything we make.
Where the name comes from
Ephesians 6:16 calls faith a shield, the piece of armor that puts out every flaming arrow thrown your way.
We did not build this brand around a cross alone. We built it around the whole picture. The cross is grace, what God has already done, freely, before you did a thing to earn it. The shield is strength, what that grace becomes on the days you have to keep standing.
Grace to believe. Strength to stand. Both halves, or it is not the armor Paul was describing.
What we make
Faith-rooted gifts and home decor, built to be lived with rather than looked at.
Every piece carries an actual verse, one we can point to by chapter and line. Not a vague sentiment, and not a phrase that sounds biblical without being biblical. The days that wear you down, the worry and the doubt and the quiet weariness, call for something true to hold onto.
We are not trying to turn you into a billboard. This is not about starting conversations with strangers. It is about arming the people who already believe. You. Your family. The friend who is in a hard season and will not say so. Something sturdy enough for an ordinary Tuesday.
If you have been let down before by cheap prints, by cliches, or by decor that reads more farmhouse than faithful, that gap is exactly what we built this to fill.
What thirty-five years taught me about giving
Long before Cross and Shield, I spent more than thirty-five years in the jewelry trade, most of it standing across a counter from people choosing something for the biggest moments of their lives. Engagements. Anniversaries. The gift you give when words are not going to be enough.
You learn a few things doing that.
You learn that people can tell the difference between something chosen and something grabbed. You learn that the price is rarely the point and the thought almost always is. And you learn that the right thing, given at the right moment, gets kept for decades, while the wrong thing is thanked for politely and put in a drawer.
That is the standard I hold everything here to. If it is not worth keeping, it is not worth making.
What you can count on
Every verse is cited and checked. No design leaves here without a real passage behind it, quoted correctly and in context. If you ever find one that is not right, tell me and I will fix it.
Thirty days to change your mind. If it arrives wrong, or it simply does not fit, we replace it or refund it within thirty days. No photographs of the tag, no restocking fee, no runaround.
Thank you for being here. Whatever season you are in, I hope you find something worth keeping, and a reminder that you are still standing.
Grace to believe. Strength to stand.
